Youth empowerment event set for Soweto on Youth Day
The celebration will address key youth issues, including substance abuse, while promoting empowerment and hope.
The Nhlanhla Tshabalala Foundation (NTF) is proud to announce the NextGen Rising Youth Day Celebration 2026 on June 16 at Ubuntu Kraal Lifestyle in Orlando West, Soweto.
The celebration will be a dynamic youth empowerment and family lifestyle event. Hosted as part of the foundation’s 10-year anniversary campaign, the event aims to create a safe, inspiring, alcohol- and drug-free platform for young people and families while addressing critical social issues affecting today’s youth, including alcohol and substance abuse.

“We want young people to know that they matter, their voices matter, and their future matters. This event is about giving hope, creating opportunities, and building a generation that rises above challenges,’’ said Founder of NTF, Nhlanhla Tshabalala.
The event will feature a powerful combination of youth empowerment talks, panel discussions, live entertainment, family fun activities, community engagement initiatives, sport and games and live entertainment from artists such as Ch’ cco and Soweto Family Band, and content creators. Different organisations will also be joining the event, to contribute towards awareness campaigns and youth development conversations.
