Business as usual at Bara Taxi Rank
Commuters are being seen taking taxis to their various destinations.
Taxis are currently operating normally at Bara Taxi Rank amid the anticipated March and March immigration protest, which is taking place today, June 30.
Bara City Taxi Association PRO, Mbusiseni Zulu, said the situation is currently calm and commuters remain in safe hands.
“The only difference today is that the number of people commuting is slightly lower than on other days, but it is business as usual, and the safety of commuters is our priority,” Zulu said.

One of the commuters, Mpho Baloyi, said they were happy with the outcome and that the association had put commuters first.
“I am happy to be able to commute to and from work without any hassle. Today is a big day in our country, and I support those who will be taking part in the march, protesting for the rights of South Africans.”
The founder and leader of March and March, Jancita Ngobese, also took to social media to inform commuters, residents and fellow protesters about their engagement with SANTACO.
In a video posted on her social media platforms, Ngobese said they had a serious meeting with SANTACO and that taxis would be operating as usual across the country.

“SANTACO has listened to us, and they will be more than happy to operate today. This means supporters of March and March will also have transport to attend the protest, and those who are going to work will be able to commute,” Ngobese said.
