The Proteas opted for versatility in the first Test against Bangladesh in Potchefstroom by picking an all-rounder.
Promising Dolphins star Andile Phehlukwayo has been handed his Test debut to bat at No 7 and provide an extra bowling option to captain Faf du Plessis.
As expected, opener Aiden Markram will also play in his first Test and it is hoped he’ll solve the opener headache for the side.
