Over the past month, Second and Third streets have been the target for police officers who are on the look out for people dealing in drugs.
According to Springs police spokesman Captain Johannes Ramphora, they have been very successful with their drug campaign and he claims the drug dealers are losing money as they can feel the police presence.
“Policemen in private clothes roam the streets regularly looking for dealers,” says Capt Ramphora.
It was on one of these missions these policemen noticed three men selling drugs in Second Street and arrested them.
Capt Ramphora adds the dealers are foreigners who are trying to make a living selling drugs to children.
The street value of the dagga and nyaope, a mixture of drugs, that was confiscated by the officers is about R500.
The three arrested men spent the weekend in the Springs Police Station’s holding cells and appeared in court on Monday.
