The first incident took place in Ludwig Street, Wright Park.
A woman was allegedly on her way home at 4:30pm on Saturday, and parked her charcoal Toyota Yaris in her driveway.
According to Springs police spokesman Captain Johannes Ramphora she was still in her car when she noticed an armed man entering the premises.
The hijacker ordered her to get out of the vehicle and instructed her to hand over her car keys.
“She asked him if she could take out her driver’s licence and cards, which he allowed her to do,” says Capt Ramphora.
The hijacker drove off in her vehicle, with her handbag, cellphone and cash still in the car.
The second incident took place in Ermelo Road, Casseldale.
A man stopped at a robot between 8pm and 8:30pm and opened his window to ask for directions to Pretoria.
According to Capt Ramphora he was talking to two women when he noticed three robbers approaching the car.
One of the robbers went to the passenger side and the other two came to the driver’s side.
“One of the men lifted his shirt where a firearm was hidden and pointed to it,” says Capt Ramphora.
They ordered the victim out of his vehicle and at that time, the victim noticed the other hijacker was already in the car.
They fled the scene with his car.
No shots were fired and no arrests have been made in either incident.
