Hurdhaw appeared in the Springs Magistrate’s Court on Friday where his case was postponed after the prosecution requested more time to conduct their investigations.
Hurdhaw is accused of shooting Shaikh outside his shop in Bakerton after an alleged argument on April 4.
He was released on R5 000 bail and has pleaded not guilty to premeditated murder, but claims he shot the man in self defence.
He was given strict bail conditions which include reporting to the nearest police station twice a week and having no contact with the family of the deceased.
Hurdhaw, who has relocated to KwaZulu-Natal, tried to get the judge to ease his bail conditions by allowing him to report once a week, this was denied to him.
Because the police station which he was reporting to was too far, permission to change police stations to a nearer one was granted to him.
The judge reminded him that although he has been consistent in reporting to the police, bail conditions are set for a reason.
Hurdhaw will appear again at the Springs Magistrate’s Court on October 15.
