Another successful cluster police auction

The Springs police's annual cluster auction was held at the Springs Police Station on Tuesday (August 12).

The cluster consists of Springs Police Station, Devon Police Station, Dunnottar Police Station, Nigel and Duduza Police Stations.

The first auction was held in 2010 where a huge amount was received for the items which were deposited into the SAPS government account.

This year the auction was just as successful and an amount of R65 000 was received.
Furniture belonging to the government as well as unclaimed items being forfeited to the state were up for auction.
Captain Marinda Pieters, organiser of the event, said all the items are sold at these auctions.
All the bidders were given a chance to pick their item of choice.
Pieters said after they placed their bids, a meeting is held at the closing of the auction at 11.30am.
At this meeting a committee will decide who the highest bidders are and they will be informed telephonically to collect the items.
“This all took place on the same day,” she added.
Helgaard Stoltz and Johan de Villiers were first time buyers and plan on supporting the auction again next year.
The money received on the day will go into the SAPS government account.
