A suspected house robber was stabbed in the chest by a Daggafontein resident, on Saturday.
The would-be robber, who was armed with a screwdriver, surprised the resident in his bedroom and demanded everything in the house.
Springs police spokesman, Captain Johannes Ramphora, says the resident then grabbed a steel pipe and struck the suspect on the chest.
Ramphora says another suspect entered the room, grabbed a bag full of documents, and the pair fled the scene.
They left a trail of bloody shoe prints as they left the house.
A case of house robbery has been opened and Ramphora requests the community to assist police with the investigation.
