Secure housing planned for Dersley
The houses will be secure, affordable and in a nice neighbourhood that residents can be proud of.
Terraplan Town and Regional Planners are planning on building new, secure estates in Dersley.
The development will be built opposite Zircon Avenue, near Disneyland Nursery School.
This area used to be an old mine dump.
One resident, however, felt disappointed that he was only informed about the development this month through his mail.

The resident says, “This is a matter of inconvenience.
“This is the first time I even heard of this and I really feel that they should have told us earlier because it is quite big.
“We are not sure what to think about this.
“I feel like it will really impact the way we live around here.”
Developer Johan Jacobs says the development plan includes a large shopping centre and a school which can accommodate up to 1 000 learners.
Jacobs and his team are planning on building 1 900 housing units, all of which will be placed inside a secure gated estate.

The type of housing will be classified as ‘entry-level townhouses’, which means three to four bedrooms per house.
“The houses will be secure, affordable and in a nice neighbourhood that residents can be proud of,” he says.
Various amenities, including shops and schools, will be close by so that frequent long trips to city malls will no longer be necessary.
Jacobs and his team are waiting for approval from the metro, after which they will start construction at the end of 2020.
The project will take about three years to complete.
