Suspects damage gate motor to gain entry to house

Total value of items damaged or stolen is R36 500, including the gate motor.

A 25-year-old woman woke up to the sound of her baby screaming during a house robbery in Dal Fouche last Monday evening.

Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora says the complainant was sleeping when she woke up to the sound of her baby screaming.

When she woke up, she saw two armed suspects who ordered both of them to lie down and not look at them.

They then demanded the car keys of the Nissan Tida which was parked outside, before they broke the bedroom door where a tablet and a cellphone were taken.

The suspects also broke the passage door to gain entrance into the main bedroom where they took two TVs.

The complainant was also hit on the head with the bottom of the gun.

The suspects were not wearing gloves and left the scene driving a silver greyish car that looked like a Mazda.

Suspects gained entry to the yard by damaging the motor gate.
