Springs police have warned serious action will be taken against any person who contravenes the Disaster Management Act concerning the buying and selling of cigarettes and alcohol.
This follows the arrest of two men on Tuesday afternoon for buying and selling alcohol.
Local police spokesperson Amanda Greybe said police received a tip-off about a person selling alcohol from a house in Struisbult.

While en route to the address, they stopped a motorist leaving Struisbult to search his vehicle.
In the back of the man’s bakkie police found 21 cases of beer and three bottles of brandy.
The man was questioned and he led police to a house in Struisbult – the same address police were heading to, following the tip-off.

A search of the house yielded over 100 bottles, boxes and cases of wine, spirits, beer and ciders.
The alcohol will be destroyed.
