Council to tackle long grass in Daggafontein

Contractor is busy in the area and will soon attend to the problem.

The City of Ekurhuleni is aware of the delays in grass-cutting in the Daggafontein area.
This is according to City spokesperson Zweli Dlamini and in response to the article featured in the Advertiser’s March 31 edition, ‘Long grass poses a danger to motorists’.
It was reported the area was not being maintained by the municipality and the grass had reached heights residents felt posed a danger.

Woodpecker Street resident Maggi Pretorius claimed she was almost in an accident due to the long grass obscuring her view when turning at an intersection.
Residents also felt the grass provided a hiding place for criminals.
“We have since been allocated resources and the area will be cut in the next two weeks as the contractor is still cutting in the area,” said Dlamini.
“The last cut was done in February.”
