Knit for a good purpose

MachKnitz encourages young children to help knit for a good purpose.

MachKnitz calls young and old knitters for its knitting marathon on May 31 and June 1 at Olympia Park School.

The marathon will boast a market with various stalls selling handcrafted toys, scarves, beanies, yarn, wool, patterns, books, and all things wool.

There will be a prize for the child who knits the most scarves and beanies. Entry fees are R80 for adults, R40 for schoolchildren, and free entry for senior citizens.

The group will donate all the knitted goodies to those in need.

The marathon and market will start at 14:00 on both days.
