The senior team from Springs Old Boys Cricket dominated the games this weekend and came out guns blazing.
This was hailed as an incredible all-round performance by the team.
Saturday 1st League vs Geluksdal:
• SOB batted first, setting a solid 176 runs.
• Neill Joubert was in top form, smashing 79 not out, while Paul van der Westhuizen added a crucial 34.
• The bowlers tore through Geluksdal, dismissing them for just 73 runs.
• Paul van der Westhuizen was on fire with 4 wickets for just 13 runs in 6 overs, while Neill Joubert chipped in with 3 wickets for 29 runs.
• SOB secured a massive 89-run victory.
Sunday Promotion Game vs Watville:
• Watville batted first, managing 123 runs.
• The bowling attack was relentless:
• Riaan van der Merwe: 7 overs, 33 runs, 3 wickets
• Jaco Potgieter: 5 overs, 22 runs, 2 wickets
• Neill Joubert: 6 overs, 13 runs, 2 wickets
• In response, Bertie Visser (40 runs) and Corne Pretorius (50 not out) led the chase with ease.
