Meat World reopens without delay after small electrical fire
An electrical fault in a counterfeit money detector sparked a fire at Meat World in the early hours of Saturday morning, damaging a sales counter.
A fire broke out at Meat World on Saturday around 03:30, damaging a sales counter.
“Our fire detection system notified us of the incident. The fire, caused by an electrical fault in a counterfeit money detector, was contained to one of our sales counters. Fortunately, no one was injured,” said Meat World marketing manager Keagan Malyon.
The maintenance team swiftly responded to the incident and restored the store before opening on Saturday. Trading continued with no delays.
