Springs Old Boys Cricket Club U12 and U14 teams secure thrilling wins

Both the U12 and U14 Impalas teams of the Springs Old Boys Cricket Club impressed with dominant and nail-biting wins, highlighting the club’s emerging cricket talent.

It was a weekend to remember for the Springs Old Boys Cricket Club, as both its U12 and U14 Impalas secured victories on October 25.

The club shared with the Springs Advertiser that the U12 Impalas had a fantastic away win over Avion from Kempton Park, triumphing by 55 runs.

Justin Swart led the charge with a spectacular 119 runs off 79 balls, including 10 fours and 10 sixes, leaving spectators in awe of his power and precision.

Supporting him, Petrus Labuschagne contributed 48 runs off 41 balls, helping the team reach a strong total. Dillon Huntley then sealed the win with four wickets.

“It was an all-round outstanding performance from the young team, showing the future of SOB Cricket is in capable hands,” said the club.

The excitement continued with the U14 Impalas, who secured a nail-biting 2-run victory against Alberton Cricket Club at their home ground, Hugenote.

Michael Kelder top-scored with a well-played 53 runs, anchoring the innings to guide his team to a narrow but thrilling win.

The club said both victories showcased the skill, determination and teamwork of the young Impalas, highlighting the promising talent being developed at SOB Cricket.
