Football and netball teams gear up for Nomdayi Festive Games
Thirty-two teams will battle for a R100 000 prize as organisers open netball entries and highlight growing opportunities for young athletes.
Nomdayi Community Games hosted the Springs LFA Junior Tournament draw on Saturday in anticipation of the much-anticipated Nomdayi Festive Games 2025, which will kick off on December 16 and conclude on December 30.
“As Nomdayi Festive Games, we have had a great relationship with the LFA from day one, five years ago, when we began using their sports facilities and referees.
“Players are getting opportunities at regional and provincial football associations, including the Patrice Motsepe League and PSL, because of this competition.
“Some soccer players are excelling because we gave them a platform to showcase their talents,” explained Nomdayi Games public relations officer Humphrey Sibande.

Thirty-two soccer teams will compete at Ntokozweni Ground and Kwa-Thema Stadium for the R100 000 cash prize, while the two runners-up will walk away with R25 000 each.
Individual players also stand a chance to win prizes for their performance. On the netball side, the competition is still open for teams seeking affiliation.
“We are calling all netball teams to join the competition. There is still space for them,” Sibande added.
The netball tournament will start on December 28.
Sibande also highlighted that the tournament supports local businesses, with stalls to be set up at the sports facilities during the event.
