Springs karate club members impress at national championships

Members of KWF Springs Karate Club showcased exceptional skill at the SA Senior Championships, joining athletes from across South Africa and Zimbabwe for a highly competitive event.

Members of the KWF Springs Karate Club on Ermelo Road recently showcased skill and grit at the SA Senior Championships.

The competition was attended by all KWF clubs from Zimbabwe and across SA.

The four members who participated were Francois van Eck, Sphiwe Mthombeni and twin brothers, Luhandrè and Johndrè Williams.

Sensei Fanie du Plessis congratulated the members on their excellent results. He also lauded Luhandrè and Johndrè, who attempted their first Shodan grading and were successful.

The results:
• Van Eck: Bronze for kumite and Jiyu Ippon kumite;
• Luhandrè Williams: Bronze for kata;
• Johndrè Williams: Bronze for kumite.
