Springs’ Dynamic Archery School ends 2025 with major achievements

From provincial gold to national team call-ups, the Dynamic Archery School athletes delivered a remarkable year across multiple disciplines.

With the academic year ending, the Dynamic Archery School (DAS) in Selection Park told the Springs Advertiser that 2025 was one of its most successful years to date, with many team and individual accolades across provincial and national competitions.

The school said the team delivered an outstanding performance at the Ekurhuleni Provincial Championships on August 2 in Elspark, Germiston, and that they competed against top regional archers and still secured the overall gold medal and were crowned 2025 team champions.

• Christiaan de Lange;
• Christiaan Smit;
• Kylie Burger;
• Alvarico Corregedor;
• Marnu Burgers;
• Samantha Sonnen.

Individual provincial results

Bullseye cubs male:
• Leiro Corregedor: Silver medals for cups complete.
High school boys:
• Van de Griendt: Gold and silver for HS complete.
3D animal targets
High school boys:
• Van De Griendt: Gold and silver for HS complete, bronze overall for the day.
Following the provincial successes, the school said eight athletes were selected to represent Ekurhuleni at the national championships in Polokwane from October 7 to 10.

EK A team:
• Van De Griendt;
• Burgers;
• Diëlla Corregedor (did not participate due to exams).
Van De Griendt returned with four individual medals.
EK B team:
• Lotter;
• Taljaard;
• Smit (did not participate due to exams).
EK PS team:
• Kylie Burger.
EK AAG:
• Grietjie Poolman (coach): AAGC team earned a bronze medal.

DA independent representatives:
Wilné Jonker, Horn, Mia Swanepoel, Joshua van Rensburg and Zion du Plessis.
After nationals, Africa Genesis Archery South Africa (AGA-SA) announced its teams for the 2026 tournament in Botswana. The school said Van De Griendt and Burgers were selected to represent SA at the continental event.
The Dynamic Archery School athletes were again recognised at the annual Ekurhuleni Awards Ceremony.

The medal recipients included:
• Alex Kriek: Second silver medal for boys (Grade Three), two silvers for cups;
• Leiro Corregedor: Second silver medal, boys (Grade Two), cups third bronze medal overall;
• Kylie Burger: Two silvers (Grade Seven), certificate.

PS EK Team 2025
• Van de Griendt: Two gold medals (Grade 11) and overall bronze (Grade 11), certificate HS EK A Team 2025
• Burgers: Two silver medals (Grade 11), certificate HS EK A Team 2025;
• Lotter: Certificate HS EK B Team 2025;
• Taljaard: Certificate HS EK B Team 2025;
• Poolman: Bronze medal (AGA ladies), certificates AGA EK Team 2025 and coach PS EK Team 2025.

The school bade farewell to its Grade 12 archers, who are moving forward while remaining part of the archery community:
• Jaco Cronje: Six years at the DAS; pursuing missionary work through Youth with a Mission in Latvia;
• Horn: Three years at the DAS; starting Tourism with Nature and Applicable Animal Health, Care and Nutrition at Toerbroers 2026;
• Diëlla Corregedor: One year at the DAS; starting BSc Biotechnology studies at the University of Pretoria.
