Missing mom

I don’t want to be a whingy old furry kickers now but I do think that you should all know that mom went off and left me with Alpha.

Yup. Just me and Alpha. Alone.

Alpha’s fine and I love him to little bits – but I do prefer it when mom’s there too.

It’s not that he forgets to feed me or anything like that – although I do notice that all the interesting tidbits are missing.

Nor, might I add, did he give me breakfast like mom does.

There were no plates to lick either.

Mom left him all these little silver bakkies in the freezer but it later transpired he lived on Romany Creams, Steers burgers and MacDonald’s.

Oh – and that red wine stuff.

He did make an egg for brekky once, but that did not help me much – I was not included in this repast.

There weren’t even any of his usual brekky dishes to demolish – not that I’m overly fond of that cardboard stuff he eats.

Probably the worst part of the whole experience was that Alpha does not talk.

Not to himself or to me.

Apart from “Hullo Fudgie” when he comes home from work that is.

Or maybe there might be one or two “drop that ball” when he plays with me.

Other than that it’s silent.

Mom talks all the time.

Okay – sometimes her yabbering errs a bit on the much side but complete silence is utterly depressing.

She did call us and I got to have slobbers down the phone but it only made me miss her more.

She left on Monday. By Thursday I was nearly beside myself.

When Alpha asked me if I’d like to go with him, I leapt into the car. Had no clue where we were going. I just went along.

We parked and waited.

It was dark and there were great noisy things in the sky.

Almost worse than the thunderdog.

Was just thinking to myself that perhaps it would have been better to stay home when Alpha jumped out of the car and ran to help somebody.

My tickly toe-nails. I know that smell. Mom!

We had a fat smooch through the car window. I whimpered and snickered a tad.

We all went home.

Just to check I was not dreaming… woke her up at 01:30am the next morning to go widdle.
