A huge thank you

Charne Jonk 's letter of thanks to a lot of people who played an important role in a crisis that took place in Rhodes Street.

We, the residents of Rhodes Street in Geduld Extension would like to thank the following people for their excellent service and dedication:

Mmopane Pieters (horticulturist), BW Mpuma, Mana Njana and TW Memi from the metro tree felling department; Jjingwayo Jakuja, Rakgalakane Walter and Nkosi Clement the municipal electricians.

A big thank you to the Springs fire department and ambulance services.

We had some serious rain recently and a part of a tree from the garden of one of the houses in Rhodes Street had fallen into the road, snapping our powerlines.

We all went outside to see and were on our phones phoning the fire department and municipality to come and fix it.

The operator on the Customer Care line said it could take between four to 24 hours before anything can be done but within 20 minutes all of the above-mentioned people were there.

They were busy cleaning up and cutting up till late that night; also busy fixing the power till late just so that we don’t have to be in the dark.

You always hear how bad the municipality is and how slow they can be but I’m telling you, that night they were Rhodes Street’s heroes.

Everyone in the street would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your speedy, excellent and dedicated service to our community.
