Name and shame

A disgrunted resident wrote this letter

I was over the moon when I found the perfect townhouse to rent, with a caring trustworthy agent, only to find out 18 months later that my honest, trusting agent was everything but that.

A full inspection was done when I vacated the premises in December 2013, and almost six months later I am still battling to get my deposit back, in spite of lawyers’ letters.

All I get is the run-around, empty promises and a hefty lawyer’s bill.

By law the rental agent involved may not be named until 10 people or more have come forward and complained.

I am appealing to all who has a bad experience, deposit retained unlawfully, rent not being paid over to the owner, or has been treated unfairly, to please contact me on 083 408 9160 and stop this kind of behaviour.

This is tarnishing the reputation of good, honest agents.

It is time to name and shame.
