Give us a break

There are many unanswered questions regarding the wheelie bins.

I agree with Mr. Grobler’s views that the wheelie bin system is a complete rip-off.

I, together with a good many of my neighbours, keep our pavements clean and the grass cut.

In addition, when the season changes I am faced with anything of up to 5O bags of leaves.

All this to make sure that the drains remain clear.

I personally have up to five or six bags of garden refuse per week.

Am I now expected to apply for additional wheelie bins at enormous weekly cost to keep the environment clean?

If I understand the billing system correctly, if I don’t register and get a wheelie bin I will not be charged?

It will be cheaper for me to have a pick-up of garden refuse say every two months at a cost of around R250 per load and take my household rubbish to the public dump.

Come on Ekurhuleni, do your homework and give the citizens a break.

An extra R500 + is exorbitant in any man’s language.
