DWS impresses on local building site

Grateful resident Alan Loxton writes:

I was thoroughly impressed with the outstanding service I received this week from the Department of Water and Sanitation.

During lunch time on Thursday I noticed a badly damaged water meter on the pavement of our building site on 3rd Street and immediately contacted the area engineer Nditsheni Netshiluvhi requesting it to be replaced and moved.

I was shocked that within an hour senior water inspector Thomas Chauke was on site with a promise to have the work completed within two business days.

True to their word the work was completed on Monday morning.

As a former city council engineering department employee I know how lengthy the process of logging a job, ordering materials and then gaining financial approval can be.

I am in awe with how professionally and efficiently the situation was handled and appreciate their dedicated service to the community.
