As a result of the lockdown, tennis coaches and players have not been able to generate an income for a few months now.
It has also been a difficult time for players who love the sport.
However, Tennis South Africa (TSA) has been in strict conversation with government to implement the return of tennis.
On the June 17, TSA announced coaches can go back to coaching under very strict guidelines.

There are strict regulations that have been implemented to help keep players safe and healthy and prevent spreading the virus.
According these regulations, coaches have to be registered with TSA and tennis clubs have to also be compliant.
Tennis coaches who are registered and compliant will receive a special Covid-19 coaching licence.
TSA will update all the compliant coaches each month with a permit.
Selection Park Tennis Club is an affiliated tennis club and therefore has received permission to reopen; the resident tennis coach, Pieter Stoltz, has registered as an affiliated Covid-19 coach.
Stoltz and the Selection Park Tennis Club adhere to the guidelines laid out for tennis to start playing immediately at club.

Many players have said they cannot wait to start playing again.
Tennis is an important sport to many people in Springs.
Stoltz says tennis is a passionate and intense sport that demands high levels of fitness and dedication.
“Unlike some sports, playing tennis is a great way to do a full body workout.
“It helps to burn calories and fat by running and swinging and reaching for the ball.
“Tennis also helps to improve bone health and is also good for muscle development,” says Stoltz.
Stoltz will be following all the strict guidelines set out to ensure all requirements are met and that players and coaches are kept as safe as possible.
