SHARPEVILLE. – Teachers, learners, and parents of Kgomoco Primary School took to the streets of Vuka section in celebration of the achievement of one of their learners, Pule Shamase (13) last Wednesday.
Shamase, a Grade 7 student, is set to represent Sedibeng in the Provincial Schools Track and Field Athletics Championship scheduled to be held at Oscar Mpete Athletics Stadium in Limpopo from March 23-26.
He earned this opportunity by securing first and second positions in the track and field events at a competition held in Boksburg on March 8-9.
Recognising Shamase’s remarkable achievement, the school organised a celebration, inviting his parents, Tseko Bodibe and Sizakhele Shamase, to join in the festivities.
In an interview with Sedibeng Ster Sport, Shamase expressed his confidence in representing Sedibeng and his school proudly at the upcoming championship. He stated his readiness and excitement for the event, emphasising his determination to succeed.
This won’t be Shamase’s first time competing at this level, as he represented the region in cross-country in Port Elizabeth last year. He assured Sedibeng Ster Sport that he has commenced preparations and is fully prepared to bring home a medal, aiming to make his school and community proud. Angie Moono, the school sports coordinator, expressed confidence in Shamase’s abilities and affirmed the school’s pride in his achievements.
She highlighted the importance of recognising Shamase’s efforts and assured him of the school’s unwavering support throughout his
journey.
