Brrrrrrrrr, this weekend is going to be a cold one

The icy winter is here, and daytime temperatures only reach 17°C over the weekend.

You can take out the winter woollies, unpack the thick blankets, and get a hearty pot of soup going on the stove because this weekend is going to be a cold one.

Daytime temperatures will reach about 17°C tomorrow, then dip to a chilly 7°C tomorrow night.

The South African weather service also shows a heavier cloud cover throughout the day.

On Sunday and Monday, the maximum temperature dips slightly to 15°C with a slightly milder overnight low of 8°C.

Moving into Tuesday and Wednesday, it looks like a colder start with 6°C and a maximum of 18°C.

The warmest day of the week is Thursday with an afternoon high of 21°C.
