Lexie is back
Senior Superintendent Lexie Mampuru from the Traffic Department reported back for duty earlier this week.

With a broad smile Lexie walked into the offices on February 3, ready to resume his duties.
Mampuru was seriously injured on August 24 while busy with access control on the corner of Christiaan de Wet Street and Walter Sisulu Road, during the 2013 Greatest Train Race.
A Toyota Quantum collided with a police vehicle that was used to block the road and Mampuru, who stood next to the police vehicle with two other men, was flung across the road by the impact of the collision.
He sustained severe head injuries and was taken to Life Cosmos Hospital, where he spend weeks in the intensive care unit.
The family requested some privacy as friends and colleagues crowded the hospital wanting to wish Mampuru well.
“The management of Emalahleni including the Traffic Department would like to thank the public for their prayers and messages of support during the period of illness. We like to thank God and welcome you back, we know how dedicated you are when it comes to traffic controlling,” said Mr Lebo Mofokeng, municipal spokesperson.
