School choir will be well dressed
Scholars from Zacheus Malaza Secondary School in Extension 14 are proud choir members who are going to represent Mpumalanga at the National School Music Competitions at the ICC in Durban, where they will compete for the Afrikaans song category, which they are very excited about.
The choir will participate in the competition which is going to be held on July 15 under the leadership of their conductor, Mr Doctor Choma.
The choir has won the cluster level, regional level and the provincial level as they are now hoping to take the ultimate title for the national level for the province as this is their second time participating at national competition.
“I am excited about this competition and I am proud of the choir as they have worked hard for this,” said Doctor.
The choir consists of 60 school children who are looking forward to the day of the competition and are also very happy about the contribution of blazers from Greenside Anglo American.
Nompumelelo Mvula and Mahlasti Ntabiseng, who are members of the choir, said that they are very excited and that the moment is indescribable for them, going to Durban and receiving the blazers.
“The choir is going to look very professional on stage with our new blazers,” said Nompumelelo.

Trymore Maphosa has been a member of the choir since 2011.
“I am humbled by the achievement of the choir because they have been working hard in unity with each other to help get to this level. We are happy to be going to Durban and we are all hoping to come back with the win,” said Trymore.
After the ceremony at the school, the choir burst into song as the blazers were being presented and the choir seemed ready for the competition.
