Staff ‘forgets’ about baby
A one-year-old baby was ‘forgotten’ at a pre-school earlier this week.
This incident was discovered when the baby’s parents arrived at the pre-school on Monday, February 2 only to find it locked.
The parents immediately contacted the pre-school’s principal who rushed out to open the pre-school.
The baby was found sound asleep. The baby was ‘forgotten’ for not more than 30 minutes and not overnight, as the rumour doing the rounds states.
According to Mr Gerhard Erasmus from the school’s head office this is a serious offence.
“This investigation is receiving our priority attention,” he said.
He said both the staff responsible is fairly new, but that according to him is no excuse.
He said an internal investigation is underway and the personnel involved will be dealt with accordingly.
The baby’s parents solved the matter with the school.
