One dog died on February 25 when the owners of the plot in the Naaupoort area left the premises in the morning.
When they returned that afternoon they found their dog had been poisoned.
A woman who has been staying in De Heuwel for seven years recently rushed her two yorkies to the clinic after she found that they had been poisoned during the night.
She had three Yorkshire Terriers that greeted her as she came home every day, however last week Thursday, February 26 one of her small dogs was stolen just a few days before the poisoning.
The two small dogs spent 30 hours at the vet but they did not make it.
“They don’t even weigh a kilogram,” said the owner, who wishes not to be named, in frustration. Apparently the tall uncut grass in front of her complex is dangerous. She says that it is easy for anyone to hide in the grass.
Witbank SAPS once again urges the community to report these cases to the police and open a case as every report can assist them with their investigations.
