While out on patrol police were informed of a suspicious looking vehicle in Plumer Street.
On March 27, Sgt David Ratau was out on patrol when he received the call.
“I approached the vehicle, the driver appeared to be sleeping in the car, I knocked on the window to wake him,” said Sgt Ratau.
Ratau requested to search the man’s vehicle to which he complied, a case of beer was found in the back seat, as well as in the boot. When Sgt Ratau asked the man to open the glove box he ran off, but was soon apprehended by CPF on patrol nearby.
Four boxes were found in the glove box, they contained wads of money.
The suspect was questioned about the money and it was found that he was illegally selling liquor.
Police headed to his home in Plumer Street where they found additional crates of beer.
The man was arrested and charged with selling liquor without a license.
