eMalahleni drug problem getting ‘harder’

Witbank SAPS continues to arrest suspects for being in possession of bizarre and dangerous drugs such as ‘Rocks’ and Nayope.

These drugs are commonly referred to as hard drugs.
On April 1 a 32-year-old suspect was arrested with a supply of ‘Rocks’ and a rock smoking pipe.
The drug is a crystallised form of cocaine that is smoked. It is extremely addictive.

The person was arrested at about 21:00 in the Central Business District (CBD) when two police, who were on patrol, spotted a suspicious man on the side of the road in Mandela Street. They pulled over and approached the man, who was apparently holding the contraband tightly in his one hand. There is no official definition of hard and soft drugs but the arbitrary term is usually referring to highly addictive substances such as heroine, or cocaine.
