A ‘hole’ lot of trouble for Tasbet residents

“Ridiculous” and “unacceptable” are some of the words that have been used to describe the mess.

Looking at the rubble and debris that blocks off Tambourine Street in Tasbet Park one would think that an artillery shell exploded and blew the road away.

Apparently this is what a repaired water leak looks like after the municipality fixed a broken pipe more than a week ago.

The mountain of debris and rubble has been piled around the half filled crater, and has gotten residents fired up, especially the residents who can’t use their own driveway as it is almost completely blocked off by the sand and rocks. “Ridiculous” and “unacceptable” are some of the words that have been used to describe the mess.

“I have to drive all the way around the block just to get out. I think I have driven an extra 40 km just in 10 days,” said a resident.

This is only one case that highlights a much bigger problem. The road in Blanchville that collapsed over three months ago due to heavy rain is still blocked off as a repairment has not even begun yet.

Mr Lebo Mofokeng the municipal spokesperson was contacted for comment with the issue yet no response has yet been received.
