Operation Thunderstorm continues to yield results as a pair of twins were arrested for dealing and possession of drugs.
The operations were carried out over the weekend of November 18 to 20, during this time police were out on patrol after midnight on Sunday morning. They were travelling in convoy down Fleur Avenue when a car refused to stop during the stop and search.

A large amount of varied drugs were found in possession of the Nigerian twin brothers.
The blue Hyundai Getz with two occupants had almost evaded the stop and search if it weren’t for the last car in the convoy.
“As the car made its way passed the convoy I reversed the car I was driving at an angle blocking off the street and they were forced to stop,” said Sgt Ratau.
Police then searched the vehicle and found a white powder in the front of the car.

The Hyundai Getz that the two suspects were driving in.
“We questioned him about what it was, he explained it was baby powder and that he used it for his head to prevent himself from sweating,” said Ratau.
The two Nigerian men were searched and nothing was found in their possession, they were allowed to leave but instead of driving on they chose to turn around and drive back to the intersection of Fleur and 2nd Avenues where they had allegedly dumped the drugs that were in their possession.
“After the search we released them and they turned around heading in the direction they came from, we followed and caught them in the act of retrieving their package,” said Sgt Ratau.
The package contained dagga, nyaope, rocks, and cat. The sector commanders arrested the two men who were kept in custody over the weekend, they appeared in the Witbank Magistrates Court on Monday November 21. The case was postponed to a later date for further investigations.
Police also arrested another five suspects for possession of dagga during Operation Thunderstorm.
