Casino Collision

A two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection in front of The Ridge Casino on Mandela Street.

The collision took place on July 20 at about 16:30.

Mr Mike Calitz was driving on his way home from work in his Volkswagen Golf TSI, he had just come off the highway and was travelling in the direction of Model Park when the light was green.

“The light was green for me as I approached the robot, I made my way through the intersection when a white BMW drove in front of me turning in towards the mall,” said Calitz.

A collision ensued which resulted in Calitz’s vehicle facing toward the mall entrance.

A white BMW X3, driven by Ms Nozipho Mabaso, was involved in an accident at the intersection in front of the Casino on Thursday, July 20.

The white BMW X3, driven by Ms Nozipho Mabaso, ended up facing the direction where she came from.

“The woman driving the BMW claims that she didn’t see me,” said Calitz.

Calitz suffered injuries to his ribs, sustaining at least one broken rib and also sustained injuries to his neck.

He was transported to Life Cosmos Hospital and kept under observation for possible concussion and was released later that evening.

Mabaso was unavailable for comment in time for print.
