Get ready to hear them sing

Phola SAPS Choir is ready for the community to hear their angelic voices.

This was made possible by the Corporate Communication Officer of Phola, SAPS Cst Thabang Petros Mabena with permission granted by the Station Commander, Lt Col Nape Matlala.

The Choir was initiated for the purpose of taking the youth away from the streets, in order not to participate in illegal protests, criminal activities, usage of drugs and alcohol abuse as part of Social Crime Prevention.

“The other purpose of this choir is to create partnership between the community and the SAPS,” explained Cst Mabena.

The majority of the youth in the choir is unemployed and come from disadvantaged backgrounds, while others are community elders and teachers.
