Driving under the influence resulted in arrest
A 47-year-old man was arrested after his blood alcohol test showed positive after a collision on Sunday evening

A 47-year-old man was arrested after his blood alcohol test showed positive after a collision on Sunday evening.
The collision occurred at about 22:15 that evening.
Police arrived on scene to find the two cars, a Nissan and a Ford, on opposite sides of the road.
The Nissan was damaged on the front right, and the Ford at the rear left.
According to the driver of the Ford, the driver of the Nissan was suspected of being under the influence as he smelled of alcohol.
Police followed up on the information and took the driver of the Nissan to the nearest hospital where his blood alcohol level was tested and returned positive.
He was immediately arrested and a case of driving under the influence was opened against the man.
“He was travelling in the oncoming traffic and I tried to caution him but he collided with my car,” said Mr Denis Mphondo, the driver of the Ford.
