A new born baby was found in a hole at Ezipokweni Section at Phola.

The baby was found inside a plastic bag by a group of women on Tuesday, August 22 at 17:50.

“The baby was still alive and police made some arrangements and the little boy was taken to Phola Clinic for medical treatment,” said Const Thabang Petros Mabena, Phola Corporate Communication Officer.

The woman who gave birth to this baby is unknown and no arrest has been made so far. A case docket at Phola SAPS has been opened and police are investigating.

“We request that anyone with information that can assist the police in this case, contact the Phola Detectives Branch Commander Captain Christine Xaba on 013 643 8601/013 643 8605,” Const Mabena said.
