Mr Calvin Mabena recalls waking up only to find that his car keys were missing, as well as his car.
On September 30 Mabena visited a local hotel in eMalahleni where he claims to have had a drink along with a man who befriended him.
Mr Calvin Mabena’s Ford Focus was stolen after he was allegedly roofied.
Nature called and Mabena headed to the restroom and on returning continued to have a drink with the stranger.
In his statement to police, Mabena claims that he fell asleep and roughly half an hour later he awoke only to find that his new found drinking buddy and his car keys were missing.
He proceeded outside the hotel to where he had parked his silver Ford Focus. The car was missing.
Mr Calvin Mabena ‘@princeoswag’ took to Twitter and to the Witbank Police to report his car stolen.
He took to Twitter saying that the car was stolen with the handle @stolencarRSA, the following day he went to the Witbank Police Station to report the vehicle stolen.
Later that day he thanked the community on Twitter in saying that his car had been recovered.
Mabena was contacted for comment but could not speak at the time of receiving the call, and didn’t answer further calls.
