Police help recover 11 of 18 stolen cattle

On Wednesday 6 December, he allegedly identified one of his cattle amongst others in a white truck

Mr Sphiwe Nkosi (48) took his 18 cattle to graze but when he came back to fetch them in the evening they had been stolen.

This happened on Friday, December 1 at Benicon open field Bethal road.

On Wednesday 6 December, he allegedly identified one of his cattle amongst others in a white truck and with the assistance of the Middleburg Police he found out that the truck was from Springville where he found 11 of the missing cattle from another cattle owner who had allegedly mixed Mr Nkosi’s cattle with his.

It is also alleged that this man went to sell some of his cattle at Ermelo and Mr Nkosi suspected that the other seven cattle were taken with those.

Mr Nkosi says that the Middleburg police have been very helpful and are currently following up on the cattle that were taken to Ermelo.
