WITBANK NEWS reported on December 14 that the mysterious explosion cost a contractor a Christmas in hospital.

Mr Siyabulela Mavimbela is still going strong after the tragedy before Christmas left him with 9% burn wounds.

SACCW (South African Community Crime Watch) along with the Hero Burn Foundation monitored Siyabulela’s progress over the festive season.

He sustained 9% burn wounds to his hands and face. Siyabulela Mavimbela on the day of the explosion, December 14.

“He is currently undergoing surgery after surgery to his face and hands but still remains so positive that the results look amazing,” Maureen Scheepers from SACCW said.
