Vehicle hijacked after confrontation

Mr Mahlanga said that on Sunday at about 22:00 he was driving from the city to drop off his friend in Klarinet.

While in one of the streets, he saw five unknown men walking in the middle of the street. When he drove pass them they swore at him and his brother in law responded by swearing back at them. Mahlanga then stopped the car and approached the suspects.

One of the suspects pulled out a gun and then fired a shot towards his brother in law. Mahlanga then ran into one of the houses and left the vehicle in the middle of the road. The suspects then fired another shot and they drove away with the vehicle.

When Mahlanga came back he found that his brother in law had been shot and was laying on the street. The hijacked car is a VW Polo registered HWP 288 MP.

Police are investigating a case of hijack and nobody has been arrested.
