MOAFE is just around the corner
MOAFE 2019 is a signature event that is packaged around the Africa month celebrations
MOAFE (Mpumalanga One-Africa Festival) launched in eMalahleni and all the who’s who attended the event.
This took place on Friday, May 3 at News Café and the partners, sponsors and potential sponsors attended the event and was hosted by the Chumana Africa Foundation.
MOAFE 2019 is a signature event that is packaged around the Africa month celebrations, and this year it will focus on four pillars over three days, which will be from 23 to 25 May at the Zithabiseni Resort in KwaNdebele.
The focus is on tourism, film and drama industry activation, fashion and crafts and music festival and exhibitions.
MOAFE 2019 is not just a music festival but an establishment of a developmental project that seeks to lay a foundation specifically for the film and drama industry in the province.
The festival is inspired by the talent we have in Mpumalanga and we believe it has a potential of creating jobs for many (young and old) in the creative and tourism sectors.
We also believe it is an opportune time for the province to take an influential position in the entertainment industry in South Africa.
As part of the festival we are hosting two seminars for film and drama and fashion and crafts to be addressed by a number of key players in the respective industries.
About 200 participants (actors, scriptwriters, directors, producers, photographers, makeup artists, fashion designers, crafters, and more) from around the province will gather for this capacity building program. Some of our speakers include: Vuyo Dabula ‘Gadaffi’ (Actor: Generations – The Legacy), Chris Roland (Director and Writer: Cape Town film industry), Obi Emelonye (Nollywood Film Director), Thulani Mhlongo (Souljay Films), John Wani (Film Director, originally from DRC), Eulender Nanni (Mrs Mpumalanga Ambassador 2018) and Dr Esther Mahlangu (The Iconic Ndebele Painter).
