One weekend, one car, eight beauty queens

The queens were in the confined space, actively raising funds and awareness all in aid of charity

The annual car sit-in took place at the Highveld Mall and consisted of two teams with four beauty queens each.

This took place inside the brand new Renault Duster, parked and provided by Eastvaal Motor City from Friday, June 28 to Sunday June 30.

The selected charities included this year was Feed a Child and Friends of survivors.

Each team was dedicated toward being inside the vehicle for 24 hours with only 10 minute body breaks every three hours.

Team one consisted of Annecke Schmidt (Miss Teen Queen of eMalahleni), Dimakatso Thobejane (Miss Loskop Vallei), Lea Sampson (Miss Queen of eMalahleni) and Nomcebo Mbuli (Queen of the Province) and they were in the vehicle from Friday at 15:00 to Saturday at 15:00. Team two consisted of Leandri van Niekerk (Miss Witbank), Jane Mabe (Mrs Africa International), Hailey Saaiman (Miss Legs South Africa) and Jabulile Matlahare (Mrs Queen of the Province) who sat from Saturday at 15:00 to Sunday at 15:00.

More than R5 000 was collected during the annual car sit-in and the organiser would like to thank all those who contributed towards the success of the event.
