Businessman wishes he never set foot in eMalahleni

At around 03:45 he had two very unwelcome visitors

A businessman from Bloemfontein has nothing good to say about eMalahleni after he was robbed at a guesthouse.

Mr Bongani Radebe told WITBANK NEWS he wishes he never sat foot in the city.

Radebe booked into Nozi’s Guesthouse on June 28.

“I was a bit concerned when I was not given a key to the room I booked. But I guess I felt comfortable as the guesthouse was really neat,” Radebe said.

He said he wanted to mention that he did not get a key to the room, but it slipped his mind.

At around 03:45 he had two very unwelcome visitors.

“Two men came into the room, one was armed. They took all my cash, cell phones and my bankcards. There I was a stranger in a strange city and I had no one to turn to.”

The police tended to another scene at the guesthouse and Radebe went over and told them what had happened.

“I only later noticed that the main gate and front door was not locked and the reception area was unattended. Don’t this people have any regard for their guests’ safety?”

The next morning another guest borrowed him cash to get home.

Mr Vilane Mokwena from Nozi’s Guesthouse said they are aware of the incident and the police are investigating what happened.
