A pool’s worth of sewer

After a week of complaining about the sewer burst there has still been no feedback from the municipality

Local business suffers the smell of sewage water which flooded the yard stagnating production.

The owner of Bolt and Nuts was devastated by the flood of sewer water within his working premises; the water hasn’t just affected the production of his company but poses a threat to the health of his employees.

The municipal sewer was initially in the street which they then decided to put in the yard of the local business.

After a week of complaining about the sewer burst there has still been no feedback from the municipality.

On Beyers Street, Die Heuwel, the main sewer burst, according to community member Fred there’s a sewer burst every six months.

“The sewer water flows from the street into my house” says upset Fred.

After reaching out to the municipality countless times there is still no feedback leaving the community to deal with health risks and the discomfort of the smell of the sewer water.

WITBANK NEWS contacted the municipal spokesperson regarding these issues, but no response had been received before going to print.
