Look for these vehicles

The man says that it is still unclear to him how he got to the hospital, as he can’t remember anything

Fear filled residents of eMalahleni after they were the victims of hijackings this past week.

On Thursday, October 24 at about 20:30 a man pulled over his white Toyota Corolla with registration number HPX 792 MP in Allenby Street.

While the man was sitting in his vehicle, he was surprised when another male opened the passenger seat door and got into his car.

Out of the dark another male appeared and told him to get out of his vehicle.

Allegedly one of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the stomach.

The man fell down to the ground and eventually passed out.

While he was lying next to the road, the suspects drove off with his car.

The man says that it is still unclear to him how he got to the hospital, as he can’t remember anything.

No arrests have been made at the time of going to print but police are investigating this case.

Another hijacking occurred on Wednesday, October 23 at about 07:35.

The victim explained that he was on his way to a meeting when the incident occurred.

“I was driving behind a tipper truck when all of a sudden it stood still in the road,” the man explained.

This was when two males approached his Ford Ranger bakkie from both sides.

One of the suspects allegedly instructed him to unlock the doors and this was when two more suspects appeared.

All four suspects got into the vehicle and they instructed the driver to drive towards Duvha Power Station.

“They asked me why there wasn’t enough petrol in the bakkie and then we had to stop to pour in more petrol,” the man further explained.

The suspects allegedly made the man get into the back and forced him to lie down.

One of the suspects took hold of the steering wheel and started to drive to a liquor store.

“Surprisingly they asked me what alcohol do I drink and I said Castle Light, when the man returned from the shop he gave me the beer to drink.”

After about an hour the suspects made another stop to get more alcohol, although this time they got Gin.

Allegedly they spiked the Gin that they gave the victim to drink and this was when he passed out.

Eventually the man was dropped off at a nearby police station but the suspects fled with his vehicle.

No arrests have been made thus far.
