Dube, back in time for Christmas
Dube was charged on counts of housebreaking in June of this year and received an 18 month prison sentence
In August an alert was issued by the Belfast Correctional Services after the escape of the 30-year-old Ndumiso Dube.
He escaped out of the Belfast Correctional Services prison on August 29.
Dube was charged on counts of housebreaking in June of this year and received an 18 month prison sentence.
He was transferred from Paxton Prison to Belfast for a short term sentence but managed to escape after only 60 days.
Dube was set to be eligible for parole in December 2019 but still escaped and hid out for quite a while before he was tracked down.
“After numerous attempts to track down Dube we succeeded on Friday November 1 with the aid of the joint forces of SACCW (South African Community Crime Watch) and Witbank SAPS. We attempted to locate him on three occasions, we didn’t give up and continued to pursue the information that we had that led to the successful re-arrest of Dube” said the Area Commissioner from Paxton Correctional Services, Mr Mandla Sibanyoni.
“We would like to thank SACCW and the detectives that assisted us and to our own Corrections officers that worked tirelessly on locating Dube,” Sibanyoni concluded.
*Dube now faces an additional sentence for escaping and his parole date has been revoked automatically.
