God’s mercy is new every morning

Deniel stated that her son is a fighter and he will get through this

It has now been more than a week since the grade 12 pupil from HTS; Darren Joseph was admitted to Witbank General Hospital after he was allegedly beaten with a pipe like object.

This followed after Darren accompanied his mother, Deniel Rabie to fetch her parrot from her ex-boyfriend house in Stephanus Street on Friday, November 8.

Darren went for brain surgery on Tuesday, November 12 as he has severe head injuries.

Darren is still sedated.

He will go for a tracheotomy today.

Deniel stated that her son is a fighter and he will get through this.

“Words cannot express how grateful we are for all the prayers, blessings and support. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,” read a post that Deniel wrote on Facebook. When asked how the family was doing, Deniel simply stated, “God’s mercy is new every morning.”

The suspect Johan Koekemoer will appear in the Witbank Magistrate’s Court again today for his formal bail application.

His first appearance was on Monday, November 11.
